Before you start

Sometimes it’s tough to figure out the best way to borrow money, so we’re here to guide you through the process. Let’s figure out what you need, what kind of payments you can take on and your best borrowing options.

Please confirm that:

You are an Ontario resident and are 18 years of age or older

You give us authorization to validate your identity

You are opening this account for yourself and not a third party

You agree to open a share account if you are not already a member

You have a minimum annual income of $15,000 and have not recently claimed bankruptcy or consumer proposal

You understand that cosigners will need to complete a separate application

You have read and accept the First Ontario

A few things you will need are...

Proof of income

A combination of a recent pay stub, letter of employment, T4 or notice of assessment
